Look AJ, if minimum-wage "earners" wanted to earn Congressional-level money, they'd have done so the old fashioned, all-American way...suckling at the teat of corporate special interests, being born into money, and most importantly, by being white, male and heterosexual!
They have no one to blame but themselves.
As I have pointed out AJ in my copious expert commentary on this matter, the failure to raise the minimum wage coincides with the ten years of welfare reform- where people no longer have a choice about working for minimum wage. Coincidence?
They will have workers whether they raise it or not. Government by the corporations, for the corporations.

Obviously Rex is correct in that we have no one to fault but ourselves. I am white male & hetro, but alas I was cursed with being born into a slave earners family which I can only blame myself for previous bad karma. I must have bitch-slapped a nun in my former life to get this.
I have to look up the word 'copious' before I can comment artikulutly on Lily's contribution.
